ANP Announces Protests Against Government For Western Route Of CPEC
Timergara/Batkhela: The Awami National Party will be arranging protest demonstrations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan against the federal government for not starting work on the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
While talking to a group of local journalists at his residence in Odigram, Lower Dir, the ANP information secretary Zahid Khan sad that the protest in Peshawar would be held start from Tuesday.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had promised during an all-party conference and later during a meeting with ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan that all provinces would be equally benefited from CPEC project.
Mr. Khan said that despite lapse of several months, work has not started on western route of CPEC that guaranteed economic development of backward areas of the country.
He said, “Mian Nawaz Sharif thinks that only Punjab is entire Pakistan.” He added that ANP would go to any extent to fight for the rights of Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Mr Hoti said that ANP sacrificed more than 800 workers in the fight against terrorism and for restoration of peace. He said that CPEC was a mega project but Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were being deprived of its benefits.
“Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has not honored the decision taken in the multi-party conference on CPEC,” he added.
