China Offers Mediation to Reduce Indo-Pak Tensions

Chinese Foreign Office Spokesperson

China has offered to act as a mediator between Pakistan and India to normalize the disturbed relations between two neighboring countries, the media reports said on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s counselor for China-Asia Mr Yuwan said that China was willing to play any possible role to de-escalate Pak-India border tensions for stability in the region.

“We are ready to provide our full assistance,” he said. He further said that China would try the best to resolve the conflict between Pakistan and India as the hostility between the two states not only affects Islamabad and New Delhi but also the entire South Asian region.

Responding to a question, he accepted the fact that there was an “imbalance of power” in South Asia and that there was need to fill the gaps.

On the occasion, the Chinese counselor also said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a game changer for the whole region and China would complete it with the cooperation of Pakistan

This will be the best way indeed.China should come across as a mediator for cooling down both India and Pakistan. The both sides should invite China to be get done. This process will take time but could be meaningful if there remains no disturbances.
