United Nations: The Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has made a statement saying that China stands with Pakistan and supports it at every forum. These views were expressed by Premier Li in a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in New York when both the leaders attended the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.
The Chinese Premier stated that, “We attach great importance to Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.” He added that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism itself and, “We hope that the situation between India and Pakistan will not escalate.”
Li said that they hoped that the international community would understand Pakistan’s position in a better way. Emphasis was laid on how China wants to play a constructive role for the improvement in relations between both Pakistan and India.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction on the ongoing Pak China relations and said he was deeply thankful to China for recognizing the injustice that is taking place in Indian Occupied Kashmir. The PM emphasized on Pakistan’s stance of stability and peace yet again and condemned terrorism of all types. He also talked about the success of the operation Zarb-e-Azab and how Pakistan wanted peace with all its neighbors.
The Chinese Premier thanked the PM for his commitment to protect Chinese personnel working in Pakistan. He said Pak China relations have now transformed from politics to economics and both the countries are iron brothers.
Li Keqiang also accepted the invitation from the PM to visit Pakistan soon enthusiastically.
