LONDON (APP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday addressed the United Kingdom (UK) think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Pakistani community at the Pakistan
High Commission and shared his thoughts on geo-political environment, security challenges and role of Pakistan Army towards peace and stability in the region.
The COAS who is on an official visit to the UK while addressing the RUSI think tank highlighted aspects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor towards economic development of the region, Inter Services Public Relations media release said.
The COAS said Pakistan was positively engaged to bring about peace and stability in the region including Afghanistan. The forum appreciated candid expression of the COAS and acknowledged Pakistan Army’s contributions towards peace and stability.
Earlier, a reception was hosted by Pakistan High Commission in honor of the COAS where he interacted with the UK based Pakistani community. He apprised them about environment in Pakistan, achievements
in efforts against terrorism and militancy and projected its results through whole of nation approach.
The COAS hailed the role of oversees Pakistanis towards progress of Pakistan and assured them that Pakistan Army shall perform its due role towards security of Pakistan. All Pakistanis expressed their pride in role and contributions of Pakistan Army towards well being of Pakistan.
Earlier, on arrival the COAS was received by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK, Syed Ibne Abbas.
