CPEC Acceptable To KPK Only If The Province Is Given Due Rights: ANP Chief
Charsadda: The Awami National Party (ANP) Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that closure of Torkham and Chaman borders with Afghanistan would only deteriorate the situation between the two countries.
While addressing his party workers he said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was only acceptable to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if they were given their due rights. The ANP chief made it clear to the center that his party would not led the federal government start the CPEC project until the province had gotten its due share.
He also questioned the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not keeping his word regarding the project.
Asfandyar said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan had ignored the people of province.
The ANP chief said that despite his illness he would visit every corner of the province to create awareness in Pakhtuns about CPEC.
He said that the benefits related to CPEC were being diverted to Punjab but the PTI led Government in the province was yet to make an effort against it.
