CPEC Beneficial For China and Pakistan


Experts, leaders and civil society activists termed China Economic Corridor (CPEC) a game changer and mutually beneficial for and said that today was a historical day as first cargo shipment departed towards international market from Gawadar port.

Talking to APP here on Sunday, the Deputy Director Planning and Development in Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Imdad Ali Bughio, former Vice president and media coordinator of HCCI Ziauddin, Chairman Minorities Commission of Pakistan Advocate M. Parkas, Dr. Raess Mushtaq Advocate and Engineer Pir Asim Sarhandi hoped that departure of first trade cargo from Gawadar port marked the beginning of
a new era of trade and that would be mutually beneficial not only for Pakistan and China but also for the whole region.

They said that through operationalisation of Gawadar port there would have been more investment and trade opportunities for Pakistan that could be mutually beneficial for all the provinces of the country, adding that Pakistan and China friendship bonds would be strengthened to an extent in future.

They said that Pakistan and China were enjoying cordial relations since very long and their bilateral cooperation in various fields including political, economic, trade and security had worked for the mutual benefit of the people of both the countries. CPEC would connect all the provinces of Pakistan with China. This direct connectivity with China will provide an opportunity to the Pakistani businessmen to carryout trade and investment activities with China, they added.

They said that newly constructed roads would opened up new areas for rapid economic and investment acitivities, adding that the energy projects would have far reaching impacts on our domestic energy needs and this nation would be able to get rid of the longstanding loadsheding and power crisis problems. They informed that the China, one of the major oil importer in the world, would construct a safe and sustained energy route through pipelines, which would facilitate its two way trade with rest of the world, especially middle eastern countries.

They said that the implementation of the policies initiated by the Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif for bringing socio-economic development will definitely move the country on the path of prosperity.
