ISLAMABAD (APP): Chairman National Council of Social Welfare (NCSW), Dr Nadeem Shafiq Malik on Wednesday said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the passage of progress in all fields. He said that it was a unique project which would help construct motorways, railways, fiber optic link, power generation projects, oil pipelines and development of modern sea port of Gawadar. He made these remarks while chairing a seminar titled “China Pakistan Economic Corridor and its Social Impacts” which was for public awareness. organized by National Council of Social Welfare, government of Pakistan, Islamabad,
Director General, Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad was the chief guest on the occasion .
Representatives of Civil Society, NGOs, Students, Journalists and Intellectuals, officials of different departments of CADD Division, and other stakeholders attended the Seminar. Dr.Nadeem said that completion of these projects would bring
positive impacts on the life of Pakistani nation which would improve both social and economic indicators.
A large number of jobs opportunities would be generated by this project and it would not only change the economic condition of Pakistan but all other countries related to this mega development project, he added. He emphasised that unity and solidarity of the nation would defeat the bad intentions of enemies regarding the project.
Pakistan would rise as a socially and economically powerful country in the future because of CPEC, he said. Other intellectuals also highlighted the positive impacts of
China Pakistan Economic Corridor and social impacts through their lectures and presentations.
