Islamabad: The Minister of State Petroleum and Natural Resources, Jam Kamal Khan, said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would create employment opportunities and tackle poverty in the remote areas of Balochistan. The project he said would promote trade and commerce from Gwadar to Kashgar and would also ensure that infrastructure is provided like energy projects, electricity and roads.
He also added that the development under CPEC would be very beneficial for the people of Balochistan. It was said that a comprehensive strategy has been developed by the government in all sectors to ensure that development is done on all levels. The minister said that the province of Balochistan has a lot of minerals and after the 18th amendment the mineral sector would be under the provincial government.
The mineral resources are to be used for the people of the province and CPEC would greatly contribute to development which would benefit the local people it was said. The youth should get professional training and skills and job opportunities have also been created for the skilled youth.
