Development Of Pakistan’s Education Sector Also A Priority Of China, Chinese Consul General

Mu Yongpeng, the acting consul general of China in Karachi, on Thursday said that development of Pakistan’s education sector was also a priority of China. He expressed these remarks while speaking at a gift distribution ceremony hosted by the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF).

While reaffirming his country’s commitment to help strengthen Pakistan’s economy through multiple mega projects in diverse sectors, Yongpeng said that proper education facilities for children were imperative for any nation to have a bright future.

Further elaborating on the subject, he said that support from Chinese companies for Pakistan’s education sector would be increased over the near future.  In his address, the acting consul general specially referred to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as “a major, high-magnitude economic project” and termed it critical for the economic wellbeing of not just China and Pakistan, but the entire region.

The event was held to distribute school supply packages sponsored by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) among students of the Shaheed Jam Fellowship School, that is supported by the SEF under its Assisted Schools (SAS) programme.
