Iran’s President Interested To Be A Part Of CPEC
United Nations: The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has shown keen interest to be a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project in a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the 71th UNGA session.
The Iranian president shared Islamabad’s vision of CPEC and how the project needed to be a reality for the progress of the entire region. A press release stated that both the leaders recognized the significance of Gwadar and Chabahar ports and, “The two leaders reiterated the complementarity between Gwadar and Chabahar sea ports that could boost regional trade exponentially in the decades ahead.”
The leaders also discussed the possibilities for bilateral cooperation in fields like energy, oil, gas and electricity.
