Peshawar: Jamaat-e-Islami lashed out on the federal government for not clearing the ambiguity about the route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said they would raise the issue in the provincial assembly.
In a statement by a senior provincial minister in the KP government and JI leader Inayatullah Khan the Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal was criticized for misguiding the political leadership of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa about the CPEC route.
Inayatullah said the federal minister should apologize to the nation for telling lies to the people.
The KP minister said the Chinese ambassador had made it clear that no western route is part of the CPEC. He said, “We will take up the issue in the KP Assembly and will go to any extent to get the rights of the province.”
The JI provincial chief Mushtaq Ahmad Khan also criticized the federal government for issuing false statements regarding the CPEC.
