LAHORE: Chinese Consul General Yu Boren has said that China attaches great importance towards its relations with Pakistan. And it would continue to further promote cooperation in different sectors. He expressed these remarks while speaking at a seminar on CPEC opportunities organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional office Lahore on Thursday. Pakistan-China ties have touched new heights and avenues of trade and economic cooperation.
Sher Ali Khan, Minister for Mines and Minerals Punjab also attended the seminar. Speaking at the occasion, he said that China was one of the important trading partners of Pakistan.He further said that high-level mutual visits reached new climax after visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan. He appreciated FPCCI’s role for trade and CPEC Promotion.
Mian Rehman Aziz, Regional Chairman and Vice President of FPCCI said that CPEC was a long-term systematic project and from planning now it was gradually entering the phase of full implementation. The all season friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries have served the people of both countries. The friendship now has become a model of state-to-state relations. He further said that issues of political and administrative instability, insurgency, terrorism, ideological conflicts and separatist movements in the country may have destructive impacts on CPEC progresses and make Chinese reluctant. Aziz said Chinese are taking various initiatives for CPEC promotion in line with the “One Belt One Road” initiative by China together with various national and international institutions all over the globe.
Khalid Sher Dil, Secretary Industries Department Punjab, said that the provincial government of Punjab was working on one window which will enhance business activities. The government has proposed three areas to be industrial estates Special Economic Zones. Chunian is also proposed to be next industrial estate which will be good location for CPEC Promotion, he added.
