LAHORE, (APP):Inspector General of Police Punjab, Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan said on Tuesday that Special Protection Unit (SPU) was ensuring the provision of security to all foreign experts especially Chinese engaged in executing of CPEC projects.
He expressed these views while addressing a seven-member delegation of Chinese ZTE Company led by CEO Weng Helin here at Central Police Office. He said that security force deployed at working sites were being equipped with modern weapons, speedy vehicles and other sophisticated tools to ensure foolproof security.
The participants of the meeting discussed different matters pertaining to the Chinese security and other issues. The IGP told the Chinese company that provision of foolproof security to Chinese experts and investors was the top priority of Punjab Police and a highly trained specialized force SPU had been constituted headed by DIG level officer in this regard.
Arif Nawaz further said that DIG SPU was supervising the security measures and paying surprise visits so that they could carry out their work on different projects in conducive work environment. He said that all available resources were being utilized to provide outstanding security to the Chinese investors and experts. No negligence or carelessness would be tolerated, he added.
Deputy CEO Wang Zhen, Chief Technical Officer Chen, Director Kazim Saeed Akhtar, Director Mou, Project Director Asad Saleem and Qayyum also attended the meeting.
