Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a meeting with the Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday. The ministers reviewed the progress of different energy projects in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during the meeting.
The Punjab Chief Minister stated that the government was working day in and day out on the energy projects in order to resolve the energy crisis. He said that power stations were being set up speedily under CPEC and work was in progress round-the-clock on 1320-megawatt coal power plant in Sahiwal which would start production from June next. Shehbaz Sharif said that work on gas power projects was also in progress. He said that thousands of megawatts electricity would be added to national grid with the completion of power projects till the end of 2017 which would greatly help in overcoming energy crisis.
